Overview

What kind of extension is it?

TimeSave - Video Downloader analyzes the network requests of videos playing on a web page in real time.

HLS videos are converted to MP4 directly in your local browser using ffmpeg.wasm, with no server involved.

TimeSave is a generic, standards-based tool: it contains no site-specific adaptations, does not support YouTube, and cannot download DRM-protected or encrypted streams. It works only with ordinary videos delivered through standard web playback technologies.

All three major video delivery methods are supported.

HLS HTTP Live Streaming
A streaming protocol developed by Apple. It delivers .ts segments in order via an .m3u8 playlist file.
